الأمر والنهي

al-amr wan-nahy

Safety advice is given as commands. The positive drops the prefix; the negative adds لا.النصيحة تُقدَّم أمرًا؛ ويُنفى بـ«لا» الناهية.

Do not share your password.لا تشاركْ كلمةَ مرورِك.
Do not open a message from a stranger.لا تفتحْ رسالةً من شخصٍ غريب.
Do not give your personal data.لا تُعطِ بياناتِك الشخصية.

The softer option

A bare command can sound blunt. يجب ألا is gentler and scores just as well: يجب ألا تشارك كلمة المرور.«يجب ألا» أرقُّ من النهي المباشر وتؤدي المعنى نفسه.
