Opinions & reasons

الآراء والأسباب

al-ārāʾ wal-asbāb

Opinions score once; opinions with reasons score twice. لأن is the most valuable word in this topic.الرأي وحده درجة، ومع السبب درجتان، و«لأن» أثمن كلمة هنا.

Giving an opinion إبداء الرأي

Arabic English
في رأيي… in my opinion…
أعتقدُ أنَّ… I think that…
أفضّلُ… I prefer…
أجدُ… صعبًا I find… difficult
من المهمِّ أن… it is important to…
أحبُّ… لأنَّ… I like… because…

Giving the reason ذكر السبب

Arabic English Example
لأنَّ because أحبُّ العلومَ لأنها ممتعة.
لأنني because I أودُّ أن أصبحَ طبيبًا لأنني أحبُّ مساعدةَ الناس.
لذلك so / therefore الامتحانُ قريب، لذلك أراجعُ كلَّ يوم.
بسبب because of تأخَّرتُ بسببِ الحافلة.
What follows لأنَّ

A noun or an attached pronoun: لأنَّ العلومَ ممتعة, or لأنها ممتعة. Never a bare verb.يأتي بعد «لأنَّ» اسمٌ أو ضميرٌ متصل.

Linking ideas روابط الجمل

Arabic English
و and
لكن but
ثم then
أيضًا also
مثلًا for example
من ناحيةٍ أخرى on the other hand
وفي النهاية and in the end
The habit that scores

Never leave an opinion bare. مادتي المفضلة هي العلوم is one mark; adding لأنها ممتعةٌ ومفيدة makes it three.لا تترك الرأي بلا سبب؛ فالسبب يضاعف الدرجة.
