These are what turn a list of furniture into a described room — and the room task is where the marks are.بها يتحول سردُ الأثاث إلى وصفٍ للغرفة.

Describing a room وصف غرفة

  • My room is next to the bathroom.غرفتي بجانبِ الحمّام.
  • There is a desk under the window.يوجدُ مكتبٌ تحتَ النافذة.
  • The sofa is opposite the television.الأريكةُ مقابلَ التلفاز.
  • The table is in the middle of the room.الطاولةُ في وسطِ الغرفة.
  • The cupboard is between the bed and the door.الخزانةُ بين السريرِ والباب.
What follows them

The noun after a place word takes a kasra ending: تحتَ النافذةِ, بجانبِ الحمّامِ. Unvowelled, it is invisible — but it matters when read aloud.الاسم بعد الظرف مجرور: تحتَ النافذةِ.
